Australia 2016 In Come The Dollars In Come The Cents - 6 Coin UNC Set

Australia's Decimal Currency was introduced on Valentines Day, 14th February 1966. This was known as currency day or "C-Day". After 56 years of using pounds shillings and pence, the decimal system of dollars and cents entered our pockets, purses and piggy banks. The new coins featured Australia’s unique wildlife which added much to the excitement.

Struck by the Royal Australian Mint in Canberra, these 2016 uncirculated coins are individually encapsulated in a presentation case comprising a bronze 1¢ & 2¢ cupro-nickel 5¢ 10¢ 20¢ and the round 50¢ struck in 80% silver replicating the originals in 1966. The obverse features the current portrait of Queen Elizabeth II.
