Info
At the centre of this 2oz silver antiqued coloured coin sits a colour enamelled gingerbread man, encased in the coin and surrounded by a festive village. The reverse shows decorated gingerbread houses and candy canes, with gingerbread people carolling, sledding, building snowmen, carrying gifts and playing. The design also carries the coin's weight, purity and 2026 year-date, along with The Perth Mint's 'P' mintmark.
Gingerbread became a Christmas favourite through centuries of English tradition and European folklore. Its spices were believed to warm people through the winter months, and the treat soon became part of the festive season, moulded into the decorated gingerbread people and sugar-covered houses enjoyed today.
