Info
The Obverse (Front): Features a left-facing profile portrait of Lady Liberty. Rather than using a traditional Greek style, Morgan modeled the design after Anna Willess Williams, an American schoolteacher. Liberty wears a Phrygian cap adorned with native American agricultural elements (wheat and cotton) and a ribbon inscribed with "LIBERTY". It is surrounded by 13 stars representing the original colonies, the year "1881", and the Latin motto "E PLURIBUS UNUM"
The Reverse (Back): Showcases a powerful heraldic bald eagle with outstretched wings. The eagle clutches an olive branch (representing peace) and three arrows (representing military readiness to defend the nation). A laurel wreath encircles the lower half of the design. It features the inscription "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA", the denomination "ONE DOLLAR", and the national motto "IN GOD WE TRUST" written in Gothic script
